Explorer Institute 2004 (Year 1)
Satellite GroupIn 2004, NASA scientists and education specialists collaborated with NPS trainers to infuse NASA content, resources, and programs into professional development for Park Service interpreters. Rangers explored NASA's cutting-edge science, by visiting NASA Centers and interacting with many scientists and education professionals working there.

Earth to Sky III: Interpreting Climate Change

Earth to Sky III: Interpreting Climate Change was held January 26–30, 2009 at the NPS Mather Training Center, Harpers Ferry WV

This workshop featured over 25 NASA scientists and education specialists, who presented information on their research and programs related to Climate Change. Participants included 30 rangers from all regions of the National Park Service (NPS), plus several attendees from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and other informal education groups. Each participant developed an action plan to use NASA science content in interpretation and/or educational efforts, and each is committed to also train other education professionals on what they learned.
